First try uninstalling in Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. If the STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0 software still appears in the program list and cannot be uninstalled, follow the steps below.

Delete program file
- Locate the STEP 7-Micro/WIN directory in Windows Explorer and delete it (default path: C:\Program Files\Siemens\STEP 7-MicroWIN V4.0)
Delete registry entry
- Click Start > Run....
- Enter "regedit" on the command line and click "OK" to confirm.

- Save the current registry settings, check "My Computer" and back up the registry data via File > Export....
- Open the directory HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall.
- Select the directory Uninstall and open the Find dialog via Edit > Find....
- Enter STEP 7-Micro/WIN in the "Find what:" field and select all "Look at" options.
- Click the Find Next button to start the search.

- The registry entries depend on the version of STEP 7 Micro/WIN installed. To ensure that the correct registry entry is found, make sure that the "DisplayName" code value matches the value in the "MicroWin Release" column in Table 1 (eg: The DisplayName code for STEP 7 Micro/WIN V4.0 is SIMATIC STEP 7-Micro/ WIN V4.0.8.06).
- Select the folder containing the DisplayName code with the correct value and delete it from the registry directory HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall.
