Summary:
As the output voltage of the power supply decreases and the output current increases, the secondary rectification loss becomes the main loss of the power supply. Conventional Schottky diodes have large rectification losses, low efficiency, and difficult thermal design, resulting in reduced system reliability. Rectification with a low on-resistance MOSFET can greatly reduce this loss and is an effective way to improve converter efficiency. This technique of applying a MOSFET for rectification is called synchronous rectification (SR). This paper introduces a synchronous rectification circuit with post-stage switching regulator function, which can reduce losses, improve power supply efficiency, and achieve high-precision voltage regulation.
