GCL-Poly: The production cost of polysilicon decreased by 16%

Tang Yiming, chief financial officer of GCL-Poly, said that he hopes that the cost of polysilicon production this year will drop from US$23.8 per kg in September last year to US$20, a drop of 16%.

He also pointed out that the biggest demand for polysilicon this year will come from Italy, India, the Middle East, Brazil and China, so it continues to be optimistic about the polysilicon market. As Germany cut subsidies last year, it believes that polysilicon demand will slow down.

Tang Yiming pointed out that the polysilicon produced by the group last year was cut into silicon wafers for self-use. It is expected that this year will be used for its own use. For the development of solar power plants in the Mainland, he said that he needs to look for opportunities and that the internal rate of return (IRR) must reach 12% before he can consider them.
